We
recently had clients take a cruise on the Marco Polo. Here
is what they wrote:
Dear Sheila,
Thank you,
dear friend, for arranging our trip to Antarctica aboard the
Orient Lines
Cruise ship Marco Polo.
As
you know, we also took the pre-cruise extension to go to Iguazu
Falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. This is a trip definitely
well worth taking. One cannot imagine the beauty of that part of
the world. The falls are two and on-half times as high as Niagara
and over two miles wide. They are located in the national park called
"Parque Nacional Do Iguazu".
Late on the
afternoon of December 30th we boarded the Marco Polo for a fantastic
cruise which included a New Year's Eve party the following night.
Toasting my wife, Lorraine, at midnight on New Year's Eve on a ship
headed through the South Atlantic for Antarctica-the trip of a lifetime-is
something I will never forget!
On
our way south along the Antarctic peninsula, we stopped at many
places-each one more beautiful than the last. We saw lots of whales,
seals and penguins. What a thrill it was to have a Chinstrap Penguin
walk between my legs on Half Moon Island! Another highlight was
talking to some Navy men at the Chilean Base at Paradise Harbor
and having them give us some
patches for our jackets!
On a scale of
1 to 10, the lectures, food, and entertainment were a 12 (off the
charts!)
Would we go
again? YOU BET!
Best Wishes
Lloyd and Lorraine
